Almost every fax machine in the world is connected to an analog telephone line, or an analog output of a telephone exchange (PBX). When the choice for a Fax Server is made, the Fax Servers Quarto and Octo are a logical choice because both models are connected to the analog lines that are already in use.
After installation, you really experience the difference between a Fax server and an old-fashioned fax machine. Paper, maintenance, and toner are no longer needed.
What is actually even more interesting; faxes can be sent from any PC, incoming faxes are automatically forwarded to the correct e-mail address and all sent and received faxes are stored in an extensive database. Like all Vidicode Fax Servers, the Fax Server Octo | Quarto comes with an unlimited software license, it does not matter whether 10 or 100 people use the Fax Server. So, …. no hidden costs afterward.
Connection diagrams:
Connect the telephone lines
The Fax Server is connected to the telephone lines. The telephone line is connected to the IN socket (right) and possible other devices, such as traditional fax machines, and connected to the OUT socket (left). All lines can be connected in the same way.
Quarto without other devices
The diagram is an example of the possible setup of the Fax Server Quarto without other equipment behind it. This is called the “stand-alone” function.
